Season Ends With a Bang

The 2014 racing season ended with a bang Saturday evening at Anderson Speedway as fans enjoyed the EDCO Welding & Hydraulics fireworks show to mark the conclusion to the season and the end of the Stoops Freightliner Night of Thrills.

Indiana Racing Memorial Association To Host Fundraiser Oct. 25 at IMS...

The Indiana Racing Memorial Association (IRMA), a new not-for-profit group organized to place markers throughout the state to recognize Indiana's significant role in motorsports history, will hold its first fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 25 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Hall of Fame Museum located on the grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The Season Championships presented by Intersect will feature McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models, Street Stocks and Thunder Roadsters at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, September 20.

Jack Dossey lll enters the McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models finale with a 65 point lead over Billy Van Meter. Dossey has a division best nine top-10 finishes while Van Meter has posted six top 10s during the 2014 campaign. Third in the standings is Jeff Marcum with Kent Baledge and Rob Allman rounding out the top five in the point standings.

Green Earns First Winged Outlaw Figure 8 Series Victory

For the first time in his racing career Chris Green scored a Winged Outlaw Figure-8 Series victory at Anderson Speedway.

Green led all 50 laps chased by series point leader Michael Hadley Jr. for most of the night.

Chapman Repeats at NASH FM ThunderCar Champ

Curtis Chapman made it consecutive championships in the NASH-FM Thunder Car division but the outcome wasn’t decided until the final race of the year.

For the majority of the 2014 season it was Robbie Wyman at the top of the point standings. But two late season incidents allowed Chapman to close the point gap and he moved to the top spot with one race remaining.

Pierce turned in a dominating performance to win the longest winged sprint feature ever at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, August 30.

Pierce took the lead from Ryan Gillenwater on lap 43 of the MoFab Labor Day 200 presented by Hoosier Park Racing & Casino for the Must See Racing winged sprint series. Starting third Pierce got inside of Jimmy McCune on lap 37 to move into the second spot.

Friday Practice Canceled, Saturday Program Pushed Back to Sunday

Anderson Speedway officials have announced the cancellation of the Open Practice scheduled for Friday due to rain showers and cold temperatures. The Saturday forecast of frigid temperatures has pushed back the Saturday race program to Sunday.

On Sunday, the pit area opens at 1:30 p.m. with practice beginning at 3 and racing taking the green flag at 5.
