Coughlin Scores Sport Clips 100 Presented by U.S. Army Victory

Ohio veteran driver Cody Coughlin dominated the Sport Clips 100 presented by U.S. Army to record his second CRA JEGS All-Stars Tour victory in 2021. Coughlin set fast time during qualifying Saturday with Tanner Jack and Mason Keller close behind. The invert saw Billy VanMeter take the lead at the start chased by Keller, Coughlin and Chase Burda. Jack’s night ended on the second lap when his Chevrolet made contact with the turn three wall.

Pro Late Models Tops Saturday Racing Card

Several area drivers will be seeking their first win when the CRA JEGS All-Stars Tour comes to Anderson Speedway. The pro late model series has competed on the high banked quarter-mile oval eight times since 2011 in racing that has produced six different winners. The JEGS All-Stars Tour will be competing in the Sport Clips 100 presented by U.S. Army and there are 19 drivers entered.

Roahrig Notches First Little 500 Victory

In his sixth Pay Less Little 500 career start, Tyler Roahrig dominated the second half to claim his first title. Roahrig started in the middle of the front row and took the lead for the first time on Lap 241 from Caleb Armstrong. He ran in the top three as the crew turned in lighting fast pit stops. He remained on the point until the leaders made their final pit stops on Lap 387, surrendering the point to Scott Hampton. Five laps later, Roahrig charged to the front and pulled away from three-time Little 500 champion Kody Swanson and Tanner Swanson.

Nine-time Pay Less Little 500 champion Eric Gordon bumped his way into the starting field with the fastest laps during The Tin Plate Fine Food and Spirits Bump Day qualifying. Three-time race and pole winner Kody Swanson will lead the 33-car field to the start. He is joined on the front row by Tyler Roahrig and Caleb Armstrong. Gordon’s time on Thursday was disallowed for a tire infraction, but was the first driver to make the field Friday on Tin Plate Bump Day at Anderson Speedway. Gordon toured the high-banked quarter mile for four-laps at a time of 46.428-seconds and will start 22nd in the field.

A big crowd saw Kody Swanson win his third consecutive pole on CB Fabricating Pole Day for the 73rd Annual Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW. The Kingsburg, California native had a total four lap time of 44.497 seconds, an average of 11.124 seconds a lap. Joining Swanson on the front row is Tyler Roahrig, who sat in the middle of the front row in last years event. Also joining the front row, two time Little 500 pole winner, Caleb Armstrong. Round 2 qualifications will take place tomorrow from 1:30pm until 3:30pm during The Tin Plate Fine Food and Spirits Bump Day. There will be a practice session starting at 11:30am. Three-time Little 500 Winner, Kody Swanson, Tops Wednesday Practice

Wednesday practice started late due to morning showers, but proved to be exciting for the Swanson brothers as they sit among the top three from today's practice. Kody Swanson was the fastest of the 36 entrants with a quick lap of 11.165 seconds. 2020 podium finisher, Tyler Roahrig was second quick just .048 seconds behind Kody Swanson. Debuting for Nolen Racing Inc. was Tanner Swanson in third. Veteran Shane Hollingsworth timed in fourth with defending Little 500 champion Bobby Santos III rounding out the top five. On Thursday, May 27 practice starts at 11:30am until 1:15pm and then CB Fabricating Pole Day from 1:30pm until 3:30pm. Practice and qualifying are free to the public.
