Hadley gets Anderson Modified win
Lewis, Conner, Chapman winners
ANDERSON – In only his third race in a modified, Mason Hadley claimed the victory in the season ending race for the USA Tire Modifieds at Anderson Speedway.
The racing action Saturday on the penultimate weekend of the 2026 season saw four different drivers visit the Hoosier Lottery Victory Lane and the setting of two new track qualifying records.
Dalton Connner almost broke his own track record for the USA Tire Modifields missing the mark by .001-seconds with the field of 15 competitors inverted by half for the feature.
Rookie of the year Josh Ebbert Jr. took the lead from the front row but the caution flag wave on the second circuit when Joe Beaver and Tyler DeHart tangled on the back straight.
The caution flag would wave twice more before ten laps were completed for a spin by Clint Butcher and Dylan Conner.
By that time Jason Thompson was leading the event with a pass of Ebbert on lap eight exiting the second corner.
On the lap 11 restart, Hadley passed Ebbert and closed on the rear bumper of Thompson.
The final caution flag waved on lap 15 when Butcher and Dylan Conner were involved in a turn one incident.
The final restart saw Thompson and Hadley make contact on the back straight with Hadley claiming the point and Thompson hanging onto the second spot.
At the finish it was Hadley scoring his first Modified win at Anderson Speedway by 2.8-seconds over Thompson with Dalton Conner, Ebbert and Colin Grissom rounding out the top five.
“I didn’t know I had the win until I saw the checkered flag wave,” Hadley said. “I glad to see what victory lane feels like again.”
Hadley said it was only his third time in a Modified and I planning to run the entire 2027 season at Anderson Speedway.
“Feels good to win in only the third time out,” he said.
Mini-Outlaws
The Mini-Outlaws made their second ever appearance at Anderson Speedway competing in an oval and roval event.
Jaxson Navarro reset the track record during qualifying, one of several drivers bettering the old mark set earlier this year.
The oval race saw Tanner Mullis grab the point at the start chased by Ryan Krugler, Dalton Conner and Rodney Smith.
Five cars got together on lap nine including Sprint car veteran Michael Lewis and Anderson Speedway Legends champion John Robbins.
Conner took the lead on the restart and was chased by Mike Coop until the checkered flag waved with Mullis coming home in third.
The field was inverted for the roval race running through a portion of the Speedway’s Figure-8 course with Lewis starting on the point and leading the entire distance.
Lewis opened a commanding lead following the only caution period on lap five for a spin by Krugler.
He won by 4.3-seconds over the tightly bunched field battling for second with Steve Vickers, Conner, Navarro and Robbins rounding out the top five.
Knapp Supply Ford Figure-8
For the third time in four Figure-8 event for the Knapp Supply Ford Division, Curtis Chapman emerged as the winner.
Michael Phipps set a new track qualifying record and the invert put James Peterson and Wylyn Conn on the front row.
But Chapman claimed the lead on the third lap after starting mid-pack with Phipps recovering from an early race incident to move into the second spot by lap eight with Colson Gray running third.
The front three pulled away from the rest of the field with Phipps and Gray keeping Chapman in sight until the finish.
