ANDERSON – There will be lots of mixed emotions when the Legends Division compete in the Fritz/Dietzen Memorial Race at Anderson Speedway.

After watching a comfortable lead eliminated by late caution periods, Kentucky driver Brett Hudson held up to win the CRA Street Stock 200 at Anderson Speedway.

Kody Swanson took advantage of an opening in the low groove to win the sprint car feature on UAW Night at the Races Saturday Night. Swanson chased early race leader Aaron Pierce for more than 100 circuits and finally prevailed with the inside pass helped by lapped traffic.

Dustin Sapp added his name to the long list of winners in the 70th running of the National Crown at Anderson Speedway. Sapp led all but one lap of the 50-lap National Crown on Saturday for the PGG Thunder Cars on Edgewater Woods/ Sugar Fork Crossing Night. Although Sapp led for most of the night he was never able to pull away from the other cars running on the lead lap, winning by a half-second over Curtis Chapman.

The National Crown is the longest continuous stock car race in the nation and this Saturday it returns to the roots that started it all in 1949. The Edgewater Woods/Sugar Fork Crossing National Crown will feature the PGG Enterprise ThunderCars for the first time in the 70-year history of the race. The ThunderCar drivers have already competed in two 50-lap features this year, but the National Crown will be paying $1,000 to the winner.

Visiting Ohio driver Corey Plunkett made his first trip to Anderson Speedway a memorable one. Plunkett started fifth in the feature line-up for the Marcum’s Welding Front Wheel Drive 50-lap feature and by the fifth circuit was running third.
