Nobleville’s Brian Gerster drove to a dominating win in the season finale for the USSA Sprint Car Series at Anderson Speedway on Saturday. Gerster passed Pendleton’s Travis Welpott with an outside move down the back straight on lap five to grab the point on Community Hospital “Paint the Night Pink”.

The Indiana Racing Memorial Association (IRMA), a new not-for-profit group organized to place markers throughout the state to recognize Indiana's significant role in motorsports history, will hold its first fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 25 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Hall of Fame Museum located on the grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Community Hospital Paint the Night Pink on Saturday Night

Anderson Speedway will be hosting a special event on Saturday, October 11 with the 2nd Annual Community Hospital Paint the Night Pink Presented by UAW, Star 106.9 and MedExpress. The event is in support of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer annual fund raiser.

The racing action includes the USSA Sprint Car Challenge Series, Mel Kenyon Midgets, WOFS Outlaw Figure 8’s and Mini Cups.

Taylor Webb took the lead from his brother with 17 laps remaining to win the 18th running of the Grant Fritz/Walt Dietzen Memorial for the Legends division Sunday at Anderson Speedway.

John Robbins led the first 12 laps but slipped in turn two which allowed Alec and Taylor Webb to move past on the back straight.

Alec Webb held off his brother through three restarts, but on lap 58 Taylor Webb got inside coming off the fourth corner to take the point.

Friday Practice Canceled, Saturday Program Pushed Back to Sunday

Anderson Speedway officials have announced the cancellation of the Open Practice scheduled for Friday due to rain showers and cold temperatures. The Saturday forecast of frigid temperatures has pushed back the Saturday race program to Sunday.

On Sunday, the pit area opens at 1:30 p.m. with practice beginning at 3 and racing taking the green flag at 5.

Chapman’s Late Run Ends in Title

Curtis Chapman hit a hot streak in the final month of NASH-FM Thunder Car competition to repeat as the division champion at Anderson Speedway on Saturday. Chapman and Robbie Wyman were locked in a season long battle for the top spot in the point’s chase. Chapman grabbed a one-point lead over Wyman on Sept. 6 and claimed the title with a dominating performance in the feature race.
