Will one of the five former winners or will there be a new name in the record books of the Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW/GM at Anderson Speedway.

Columbus, Ind., native and former Little 500 competitor Butch Wilkerson will be the guest speaker at the May 23 Little 500 Induction Ceremony Luncheon. The ceremony will take place the afternoon of the 67th annual Pay Less Little 500 at Anderson Speedway.

Wilkerson was a force to be reckoned with during his Little 500 tenure. He competed in eleven events from 1967-79. He drove for some of the most prolific car owners in Little 500 history including: Dizz Wilson, Karl Kinser, and Jack French among others. He set on the front row on three different occasions.

Michigan driver Tom Boorsma made the rainy drive to Anderson Speedway on Saturday with his fourth consecutive feature win in vintage modified racing action.

Anderson Speedway, Action Entertainment and Champion Racing Association are working diligently on preparing the racing surface for the Parallax Power Supply Redbud 400 presented by Mitch Smith Auto Service and Perfecto Tool and Engineering Co. after rain showers have dampened the grounds. The current feature start time has been pushed back 30 minutes and an 8pm start time is schedule for the Parallax Power Supply Redbud 400.  Gates are open and tickets can be purchased for $25 for adults and $10 for kids 6-12.  

Anderson Speedway officials have cancelled the races for Saturday, March 31 due to the forecast of high winds, rain and cold temperatures Saturday afternoon and evening. Officials have scheduled make-up races for all divisions except the Outlaw Figure 8’s. The Vore’s Welding and Steel Street Stocks will race on Saturday, June 9, the Thunder Cars on Saturday June 30 and the Thunder Roadsters on Saturday, April 21. The Open Practice for Friday, March 30 will still take place. Pit gates will open at 3pm with practice from 4 until 7pm.

The Night of Thrills at Anderson Speedway more than lived up to its billing with a thrilling finish in the Marcum’s Welding Front Wheel Drive feature and mayhem during the popular Trailer Race.

The drivers of the Thunder Car division will be competing in their premier event of the year at Anderson Speedway this Saturday. The Thunder Car drivers will be competing in a 100-lap feature along with season championship events for the Marcum Welding Front Wheel Drive and Hart’s Auto Fire 8 divisions.
