Anderson, IN (Friday, April 28, 2023) – Anderson Speedway officials have canceled the O’Reilly Auto Parts 125, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2023, due to forecasted weather. Consistent inclement weather forecasts have reflected strong rain chances for Saturday afternoon and evening. In an effort to prevent unnecessary travel expenses for race teams, and all parties involved, the decision to cancel the event came Friday morning. The ASA/CRA Super Series will not be rescheduled.
The next time Anderson Speedway fans will see Super Late Models will be at the prestigious 57th Annual Greg Hubler Automotive Group Redbud 400. With the return of the American Speed Association (ASA) to Anderson Speedway, this will be one of the most anticipated Redbud 400 events in recent years. With the ASA Stars National Tour, fans will see the best drivers in Super Late Model racing on one of the most famous pavement short tracks in America. The event will also play host to the 50th Anniversary ASA Drivers Reunion where legendary ASA drivers will gather once again at the “Home of ASA”. A special ticket package to include a race ticket and reunion ticket will be made available with more details coming at a later date.
Open Practice scheduled for Friday evening has been canceled as well. This practice has been rescheduled for next Friday, May 5th from 4:00pm-7:00pm.
The following divisions have been rescheduled and moved to the following events:
- Vintage Wrench Ford Amateur Division >>> Saturday, May 20
- ThunderCar race scheduled on Saturday, May 20 >>> June 10
- Midwest Champ Karts >>> TBD
- McGunegill Engine Late Models race will not be rescheduled.
The next race at Anderson Speedway will be the Spring Championships on Saturday, May 6th. In action will be the McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models, Noble Wine & Spirits ThunderCars, Thunder Roadsters, Vintage Wrench Ford Amateur Division, Marcum’s Welding Front Wheel Drives, Vintage Wrench Ford Pro Division. Tickets for the event will be $13 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12, and kids 5 and under are free. Also, we will still be honoring the $10 off an adult ticket for those who were in attendance for the April 22nd ThunderCar 100 event at the Spring Championships on May 6th. Please bring your ticket stub from the ThunderCar 100 event to receive your discount.
