Anderson, Indiana (December 17, 2019) – Action Entertainment officials have announced that Vore’s Welding & Steel has agreed to sponsor the Street Stock Division at Anderson Speedway again in 2020. The division will be titled Vore’s Welding & Steel Street Stocks for the 2020 racing season.
“We are excited to have VORES Welding & Steel sponsor the street stock division in 2020” said Gary Mong, Vice President of Marketing – Anderson Speedway. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with Steve, Dan and the entire Vore’s team.”
The street stocks have been a very competitive division at Anderson Speedway. Vore’s Welding & Steel Street Stocks first became a division in 1980. Dick Hinshaw went on to win three out of the first four track championships. In the past couple years, Josh Poore has been the car to beat, where he won the division championship in 2011, 2015, 2017, and 2019. The 2018 season saw Poore race on a limited schedule to focus on his son who races quarter midgets. He changed to the ownership role and let longtime crew member, Travis Burge, race for the division championship. Burge was able to pick up the championship. In 2019, Poore returned to the driver’s seat winning 5 races and the championship over Willi and Tyler Dehart.
The Vore’s Welding & Steel Street Stocks will compete in 8 events at Anderson Speedway. Also, on the schedule are the highly anticipated Street Stock 150’s. For the first time in 2020, Anderson Speedway will host two 150 lap races. They will be run on Saturday, June 27 and Saturday, August 15. The number of laps changed from 200 to 150 as only green flag laps will count. In the past years, the street stock 200 race has brought the best drivers from around the Midwest to compete. Last year’s race was won by Kentucky’s Brett Hudson.
