With Mother Nature playing havoc with the early season schedule at Anderson Speedway the Spring Championships this Saturday take on added importance.
There will be 200 laps of feature racing in the six local divisions with double points being awarded.
Those points will go a long way in determining championship leaders when the mid-point of the season arrives.
So far this year the McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models and Vore’s Welding Street Stocks have been in action once. Defending two-time Late Model champion Jeff Marcum claimed the initial victory and Travis Burge won the Street Stock opener.
Veteran driver Ronnie Rose claimed the only Thunder Car feature.
Doug Dugger and defending champ Dave Osborn have claimed feature wins in the Thunder Roadster Division.
There have been two different winners in Hart’s Auto Figure 8 action with Ronnie Phipps and Kyle Allmond claiming the honors.
Randy Owens has driven to two consecutive victories in the Marcum’s Welding Front Wheel Drive division.
Qualifying is set for 6:30 p.m. with racing action at 8 p.m. Adults tickets are $12, $4 for children between 6 and 12 years of age and under six admitted for free.
