Anderson, Indiana (December 15, 2017): Action Entertainment officials have announced today that Anderson, Indiana company, Parallax Power Supply, is returning as the title sponsor of the storied 52nd Annual Redbud 400. Parallax Power Supply first sponsored the Redbud 400 in 2017 and is looking to expand its impact for the 2018 racing season.
The race will make a return to Monday in 2018. It will be run on July 16th, the Monday after the NASCAR race at Kentucky Speedway. This will be the first time the race has been run on a Monday since 2011. In 2011, Steve Dorer made a turn 4 pass on NASCAR Driver Chase Elliott to win the race.
The track will host an open practice for teams on Sunday, July 15. The grandstands will be open for race fans to come and watch for free. Look for tickets to become available for the 52nd Redbud 400 in early June.
“The Parallax Power Supply Redbud 400 has traditionally been one of the most exciting late model races in the area,” says Rick Dawson, President of Anderson Speedway. “Drivers from all over the country will once again converge on the high banks. We expect a number of familiar names to be on the entry list in July. The support from Parallax is overwhelming and helps us take this race to a premier level in the industry.”
Last year’s race is one that will not soon be forgotten. It saw Steven Wallace, son of famed NASCAR driver Rusty Wallace, win the 400-lap spectacular. The race was highly contested by local driver Jack Dossey III, Steven Wallace, Raphael Lessard, and former winner Steve Dorer in the late stages of the race. On the final restart, Wallace and Lessard started side by side. Lessard slipped up and gave up a couple positions. Wallace was able to pull ahead a little bit and hold off Dorer for the win. The race in 2017 moved back to the original length of 400 Laps after being at 300 Laps for many years. The race will stay at 400 laps for 2018. ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS will once again sanction the race. This will be one of 16 stops on the 2018 schedule for the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS. Other races include the Winchester 400 and Battle at Berlin 251.
