During the season opening race for the McGunegill Engine Performance Late Model Division at Anderson Speedway the outcome wasn’t decided until two laps remaining.
Speedway officials are anticipating more of the same action during Madison County Storm Water Quality Partnership night on Saturday.
Scott Tomasik got the first feature win of the year when he used a bump and run to get inside of leader Ronnie Rose with two laps remaining. Muncie’s J.P. Crabtree slipped pass Rose to finish second.
For the first time in 2015 the new Hart’s Auto Figure-8 Division will be in action led by Nick Warner, Curtis Chapman, Camden Creek and Larry Southerland.
The Hart’s Auto Figure-8 Division returns full-bodied stock cars in crossover action on the famed Anderson Speedway Figure-8 track.
The division in the past brought legendary drivers like Gene Huston, Herb Rose, Joe McKinney and Rick Fields to the track to the delight of the fans.
More than 30 cars are expected for the first of four visits in 2015 for the Vores Compact Touring Series to Anderson Speedway.
The division is known for bringing exciting side by side racing action to the quarter-mile oval. Local drivers led by Adam Lee, Chris Jennings, Marshal Clark and Randy Hoppes will be trying to score a win against the tour’s regular competitors.
Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing action at 7 p.m. Adult tickets are $12 and $4 for children between the ages of 6-to-12.
