Racing action returns to Anderson Speedway on Saturday, June 28 with McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models, Kenyon Midgets, Legends, Front Wheel Drives Figure 8 and Pro Compacts.
Jack Dossey lll sits atop the McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models point standings with a 56 point advantage over Billy Van Meter. The remainder of the top five includes Jeff Marcum, Kent Baledge and Greg Van Alst, who earned his first victory on June 13.
The Kenyon Midgets will make their third appearance of the season at Anderson. In the previous two events feature wins have been claimed by Travis Young and Cole Fehr. In the season standings, Fehr holds a 34 point advantage over rookie Colton Dooley with Jessica Bean in third position. Travis Young and Clayton Gaines round out the top five in the standings.
Saturday’s visit marks the third event this year for the Legends. Eric Black and John Robbins have scored feature wins in March and May.
Randy Owen sits atop the Front Wheel Drive Figure 8’s standings with a 58 point lead over Kamden Creek. Third is Jeff Williams with Randy Hoppes and Elliott McKinney filling out the top five.
The Pro Compacts will also make their third appearance at the high-banked quarter-mile oval. Richmond’s Chris Jennings has collected both the wins in the division. In the 50 lap feature on June 7, Jennings was followed by Jason Timmerman, Rodney Sutton, Greg Isbell and Gary Eaton.
On Saturday, June 28, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing beginning at 8. Admission is $12 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.
