There is a full weekend of racing at Anderson Speedway with three different touring series in action.
The Vores Compact Touring Series is bringing the North and South Division drivers together for 30-lap features on Saturday and Sunday for the Anderson Applebee’s VCTS Phantom Racing Gear Championship weekend, on the high banked quarter-mile oval.
These are the final events in the Challenge Series with four drivers in a position to walk away with the title of champion.
In the first visit of the series to Anderson Speedway, local driver Adam Lee scored the victory. Lee has set fast time six times this season and has won all six features.
The Must See Racing Winged Sprints return for a second time on Saturday as a tune-up for the Labor Day Weekend 50 lap feature.
Ohio driver Jimmy McCune won the May race. Drivers expected to be compete include Brad Wyatt, Chris Neuenschwander, Anthony McCune, Jeff Bloom, Derek Bischak, Sam Davis, Grant Galloway, Christian Koehler, Kevin Blue, and Brian Vaughn among others.
The Saturday night racing card is rounded out by the Thunder Roadsters where John Robbins will be looking for his sixth consecutive win.
Gates open at 5 p.m., qualifying at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m.
The Champion Racing Association Late Model Sportsman Division makes its final appearance on Sunday for a 75-lap feature.
Greg Van Alst, the most recent Anderson winner, leads Jason Atkinson by a single point in the championship battle.
