CRA Street Stocks take on Military Appreciation Night

ANDERSON – The Champion Racing Association Street Stocks will be competing in the first of two 150-lap races this weekend at Anderson Speedway.

The touring Street Stocks top the racing program on Military Appreciation Night sponsored by Byrider. Military members are admitted free.

The Street Stocks will be joined in competition by the Late Models, Marcum Welding Front Wheel Drive and Beaver Construction Legends.

A year ago Ryan Amonett and Andrew Teepe scored victories in the pair of 150-lap races.

Since 2019 Brett Hudson has won three of the extended races with Dalton Conner, Chuck Barnes Jr. and James Kirby III visiting victory lane.

Alan Williams scored his first ever Anderson Speedway win with the CRA Street Stocks in a 75-lap race on April 26 with Andrew Cook and Kirby scoring podium finishes.

Kirby has recorded two wins this season with the Vores Welding & Steel Street Stocks with Cook finishing second twice.

Weather has played havoc with the Late Model division with the drivers scheduled to compete for only the third time this season.

Defending champion Jeff Marcum is a perfect two for two with Jason Shively twice claiming the runner-up position.

Visiting Canadian driver Danny Chisholm won the first Legends feature with South Carolina driver Zach Miller coming home in second and Anderson’s Xavier King rounding out the top three.

Defending Front Wheel Drive champion Josh Ebbert is a perfect two for two in competition this year and posted new track record during qualifying earlier this season.

Qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for kids age 6-12, and free for all kids 5 and under.
