Anderson,IN… Four the fourth time in 7 races this season, Anderson Speedway officials have decided to postpone the Byrider Spring Championships scheduled for Saturday, May 11. Forcasted afternoon and evening showers, some which may be heavy, will put a damper on racing. This with anticipated cool tempretures would make for a very difficult evening of racing.
“This has been a truly unusual spring” says Speedway President, Rick Dawson.” It has been a long time since I can can remember this much rain on weekends early in the season. I know our competitors and fans are as anxious to watch some great racing as much as myself and it will be forthcoming soon. It finally appears after today and tomorrow that spring will finally arrive with warmer temperatures and less rain. Next weekend looks good for the Byrider Spring Championships. We have an exciting season planned and look forward to getting at it next week.:
Next Saturday’s Byrider Spring Championships will highlight feature only racing with the McGunegil Engine Late Models, Vores Welding & Steel Street Stocks, PGG ThunderCars, Marcum Welding Front Wheel Drives and Harts Auto Figure 8’s. The Thunder Roadster Spring Championships will be scheduled at a later date. Gates will open at 5:00 nest Saturday will racing beginning at a special time of 7:30.
Tickets are on sale daily and on race days for the 71st Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW. Entries are still coming in for this spectacular event scheduled to take the green flag at 8:00 on Saturday, May 25.
