Cody Riley was poised to score his third feature win with the Marcum’s Welding Front Wheel Drive division, but it all changed with three laps remaining. Riley took the lead at the start from his second row starting spot chased by Caleb Southerland, JD Blankenship and Josh Ebbert. Ebbert’s night ended on lap six and the running order remained unchanged as Riley started working his way through lapped traffic. With three laps remaining Riley made contact with the car of James Allender in the fourth corner with Trevor Fippen and Blankenship getting involved in the tangle. With Riley still on the point, Blankenship lined up on the outside of the front row for the restart. Blankenship took over the lead and pulled away to a 1.9-second win over Riley with Brandon Kindler coming home in third. It was the third feature win for Blankenship in the last four races for the division.
Ebbert set fast time during qualifying, but his time was not allowed following inspection. The Anderson driver charged through the field to win for the first time in a heat race passing Blankenship on the fifth circuit. Blankenship finished second followed by Southerland. Point leader Devin Lane led the entire distance in the second heat race with Allender coming home second and Brandon McCarthey rounding out the podium.
