Anderson, Indiana: Action Entertainment has released the 2020 racing schedule for Anderson Speedway that celebrates its 73rd season at the high-banked quarter-mile oval. The Speedway will continue to showcase McGunegill Engine Late Models, Vore’s Welding and Steel Street Stocks, Thunder Roadsters, PGG Enterprise ThunderCars, and Front Wheel Drives. Anderson Speedway has added two new divisions for the 2020 racing season – Front Wheel Drive Figure 8’s, and Crown Vic’s.
The schedule is once again full of excitement with many special events and touring series in an effort to give the fans a wide variety of entertainment. Highlighting these will be the 72nd Annual Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW on May 23rd with the top asphalt Sprint Car racers in the country.
Don’t forget you can save $5 per ticket by purchasing your Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW tickets before December 31. You can stop by the main ticket office Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to pick up your tickets or contact the ticket line at 765-642-0206 ext. 21. You can access the office during the off season by entering through the pit gate and coming to the back-office door.
The Redbud 400 presented by Mitch Smith Auto Service and Perfecto will be ran on Monday, July 13. The racing lineup will feature the ARCA/CRA Super Series Late Models competing in a 400-lap event with live pit stop action. Last year saw an exciting race with Michigan’s Johnny Vandoorn taking home the win on a hot Indiana day. Also racing the Saturday before the Redbud 400 will be non-wing sprint cars. This will create a special racing weekend for race fans.
2020 will also include two other non-winged sprint car events in addition to the Glen Niebel Classic being ran during Redbud weekend. The 5th Annual Tony Elliott Classic on Saturday, October 3rd will take place during Paint the Night Pink. The second non-wing race will be Saturday, August 1st and 125 Laps in length.
The ARCA/CRA Super Series Late Models will make their first appearance of the season on April 18. The race, 125 laps in distance, has been used as a tune up for the Redbud 400. JEGS/CRA All Stars return to Anderson Speedway on June 13.
Several touring series will make visits to Anderson Speedway including Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series, ARCA/CRA Super Series Late Models, CRA Late Model Sportsman, CRA Street Stocks, CRA JEGS All Stars, USSA Mel Kenyon Midgets, VORES Compact Touring Series, Midwest Champ Karts, CSR Super Cups, and Pro National Baby Grand Series.
Long distance street stock races have been a main stay at Anderson Speedway for the past decade. In 2020, two 150 CRA Street Stock races make their way onto the schedule. The races will count only green flag laps.
Figure 8 Madness on Saturday, July 4th and The Night of Thrills on September 5th will continue to be some of the most popular and exciting nights at the Speedway. Anderson Speedway will attempt to run the Inaugural World Championship Trailer Figure 8 as the conclusion to the 2020 racing season. The 2019 event was cancelled due to rain.
The VORES Compact Touring Series will make a special appearance to Anderson Speedway with two-time Daytona 500 winner Michael Waltrip on September 12. Waltrip will take on the stars of the VORES Compact Touring Series in a special 30 lap feature.
