And there were in the same country, shepherds abiding in the field, keeping
watch over their flock by night. (9) And low, the angel of the Lord came upon
them, and the Glory of the Lord shone round about them, and they were sore
afraid. (10) And the angel said unto them, “Fear Not, for behold, I bring you
good tidings of great joy. Which shall be to all people.” (11) For unto you is
born this day, in the City of David, a savior, which is Christ the Lord. (12)
And this shall be a sign unto you, ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling
clothes lying in a manger. (13) And suddenly there was with the angel a
multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying (14) Glory to God in
the Highest and on Earth Peace Goodwill towards men. Luke 2:8-14 KJV.
Greetings in the matchless name of Jesus! It has been a while since I have
written a message, but a lot of things have been going on. I hope to be more
regular with my messages for you. As I was walking down the street, I heard
someone say, “I can’t afford to buy Christmas.” Is this what Christmas has
really became? Is it a contest to see how much money one can spend without
thought? Or is it who can outdo who with the best gifts? I sincerely hope not!
Christmas is a time to celebrate God’s greatest gift which he freely gave to all
of us! It cost Him dearly, for it cost Him his only son. But in that gift, His
son lives, so that we all may live. We have forgotten what Christmas really is.
It is a time to celebrate life, celebrate family and to celebrate friends. If
you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then you know the true meaning of
Christmas and you know that Christmas has already been bought for you, so my
dear friends, in closing, I for one will gladly stand and say “Merry Christmas”,
“In God I trust” and any of the other phrases that are frowned upon. For if it
weren’t for Christ, then there would be no Christmas.
We would like to extend congratulations to all this season’s champions and “well
done” to Cale Ramey, driver of the RWJM Oldsmobile in the Chappy’s Rent to Own
Front Wheel Drive figure 8’s for winning the Sportsmanship award.
May all of you and your families have a Joyous and Blessed Christmas Season. And
just think, our first race is only 20 days away!
