Eddie Hoffman Wins 39th Anderson 400 Presented by Great Deals

Patience paid off for CRA Super Series driver Eddie Hoffman during the 39th Anderson 400 presented by Great Deals Magazine Saturday, July 16, at Anderson Speedway. Hoffman stormed up from the 20th starting position to capture his first win in the short track classic at the world’s fastest quarter-mile oval. Hoffman adds his name to an impressive list of race winners that includes Mark Martin, Alan Kulwicki, Dick Trickle, Bob Senneker, Junior Hanley and Gary St. Amant.

Hoffman, of Wheaton, Ill., was the last of seven leaders in the race that ran to its completion despite the constant threat of rain. Much of the second half of the 400-lap event was held as occasional raindrops dotted Anderson Speedway. Hoffman was able to maintain his advantage over the final 147 laps to pick up the sixth win of his CRA Super Series career.  Full Story

Van Meter Earns 39th Anderson 400 Pole; Ellis, Warner and Harmon Score Wins

Eddie Van Meter picked a good time to win the first CRA Super Series pole of his career Friday night at Anderson Speedway, during qualifying for the 39th Anderson 400 presented by Great Deals.

Van Meter recorded a quick tome 12.129 seconds to take the top spot for Saturday night’s 39th running of the Anderson 400 at Anderson Speedway. Van Meter’s time gave him a top qualifying speed of 74.202 miles per hour on the world’s fastest quarter mile oval. Tommy Cook was just 0.025 seconds behind to capture the outside of the front row. Jeff Lane timed in third quickest with Bobby Parsley and Chris Gabehart rounding out the top five.  Full Story
