Greetings in the name of Jesus!

(12) This is my commandment that you love one another as I have loved you. (13) Greater love has no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:12-13

Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus!

As we approach this weekend of Memorial day and we think about the cookouts, the races, and spending time with family and friends, I ask you to think about those brave men and women who gave their lives so that we may be free.

We have the greatest military forces in the world. These brave men and women sacrifice for us daily. They have given up precious time with their families to defend our freedom. Most of them do not know us, but because we are part of their family, as Americans, they put their lives on the line every day so that we might have the freedoms we enjoy today.

Jesus told us that that there is no greater love. Sometime during this weekend take the opportunity to say thank you to our service men and women when you see them, and take just a moment to lift up a prayer for those families who have lost loved ones in service to our great nation.

My father served in WWII and in Korea in the Navy. He shared with me some of the stories that happened on board his ship. They laughed, and cried together. But they all served with a heart of love for this great nation.

To our veterans and to those currently serving I say thank you and may God bless you for your service. To those who lost loved ones my prayer for you is that you would know that their sacrifice was not in vain, they served with love and they protected us with their very life, and may God’s blessings be with you as you go on.

Jesus also paid that ultimate price for us, so that we would not have to face the pain and suffering of an eternal hell where there is weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth. There is no peace or comfort for those who do not believe.

Jesus gave his life freely for you and I.

We have no promise of tomorrow. If you don’t know Jesus as your savior I beg you to seek him today for you may not have tomorrow.
