(7) I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. (8) Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on that day: and not to me only but to them also that love his appearing. 2 Tim. 4:7-8 (KJV)

Checkered Flag or Black Flag which one do you get?

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

Well, another week has came and went, another race has been run. How did you finish? As we go day to day our life can be and is considered a race. Our drivers work diligently on their cars so that they run well on race night. So should we work diligently so that we may run well this race of life. At times during the race on the track the caution flag comes out.

The caution flag also comes out in our daily lives. When adversity comes, in whatever form, we have to deal with it to get back on the track of life. God is there as our crew chief. When we come up against difficulties we can turn to him for direction, just like a race driver does to his crew chief on the track. There is a bond of trust there. He trusts the crew chief to make the necessary changes and repairs so that he runs well in the race.

So must we trust in God to run well in the race of life. But, for the most part we try to fix the problem ourselves and not let the crew chief do his job. God can change your life for the best, if you’ll only listen. Instead of blowing up and hurting someone else with anger, take a step back, suck in a deep breath, and ask your crew chief for help.

Jesus stands ready to help. All you have to do is just ask him and let him. I think that is a big problem in our society today. We’ve forgotten who to ask for help. I trust that you will seek out Jesus today. That way you’ll finish the race in victory and receive the Crown of righteousness and not receive the black flag and reside in the pits of hell for eternity.
