Greetings in the name of Jesus!
Welcome to the first edition of the
Chaplain's Corner! I want to take this opportunity to let everyone know who I am
and what I do at the track.
First of all, let me introduce myself. I am Reverend Carlos Stapleton and this
is my third year at the speedway, serving on the safety crew. During the off
season, I was called to the ministry and was ordained in February of this year.
As I looked at different ministries I kept getting led back to Anderson
Speedway. I saw that we needed someone to tend to the spiritual needs of our
drivers and crews & that's where God wanted me to be.
I am also part of a great organization called Racing with Jesus Ministries. (RWJM).
RWJM has been serving the Lord at the racetracks since 1980. Our Chaplains
follow the NASCAR Busch North Series as well as the Featherlite Modifieds. You
are welcome to visit our website at
www.rwjm.org. There you can
find a lot of great information as well as being lifted up by Rev. Pat Evans'
weekly messages. RWJM is ran and funded entirely by your generous donations to
our ministry, so any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.
As your track chaplain I want you to know that I'm here for you, driver, owner,
crew, track official or fan. If you have a spiritual need, just want to talk,
need someone to pray with you, whatever your need I'll do my best to help you. I
offer up a protection prayer for our drivers at the conclusion of the driver's
meeting and I appreciate all of the support I get from the drivers. You might
also notice that some of our cars have the RWJM decals on them. If you want
decals please come see me. I have another shipment coming and it should be here
soon. During the races, I'm usually on the backstretch in turn 2 serving on the
safety crew. I'm always available to you before or after the races. I can also
be reached via e-mail at
chaplin@andersonspeedway.com.
I want to also congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Joaquin Combs on their marriage on June
19. It was a privilege to be able to officiate their wedding on the front
stretch!
If you have prayer requests, e-mail them to me and I'll lift them up and with
your permission I'll post them for other Christians to lift up as well.
I'll be posting up a weekly message of encouragement here. If there's a topic
you would like me to write on just e-mail me.
I hope to improve on the Chaplain's corner each week so if you have any
suggestions just let me know.
That's it for this week. Go with God for He will always go with you. I'll see
you Friday night!
May God Bless
Rev. Carlos
