Anderson, IN (Wednesday, April 12, 2023) – The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS are set to contend their second event of the 2023 season. The Spring Fling 75 Presented by CB Fabricating from Anderson Speedway on Saturday, April 15th is the next chance for someone to add their name to the wins list for the new season.
Fresh off the heels of the season-opening event at Shadybowl Speedway on Sunday, April 2nd, the next event on the schedule brings the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman to the birthplace of Champion Racing Association, Anderson Speedway. The inaugural Late Model Sportsman race was contested in April of 2006; a race that was won by Al Cook, Jr who rolled from the outside of row one to grab the win.
Last season it was all Jeff Marcum who bested J.P. Crabtree to grab the win in the spring race. Marcum, a 12-time feature winner with the series, won three of the four races contested at Anderson Speedway last season. Crabtree finally got the best of Marcum in August after Marcum retired from the race with 19 to go after leading 39 of the 100 scheduled laps. Eventual Champion, Keegan Sobilo and Charlie Keeven rounded out the podium in the August contest.
Anderson Speedway is also the most visited track on the schedule for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Series. Saturday’s race will represent the 55th contest for the CRA Late Model Sportsman. Only one other track comes close to hosting the CRA Late Model Sportsman as much as Anderson Speedway, that of fellow Indiana track, Winchester Speedway, who has hosted the Late Model Sportsman 49 times since 2006.
The Spring Fling 75 Presented by CB Fabricating begins with the first green flag of the night at 6:00 PM ET. General Admission gates open at 4:00 PM ET with tickets available at the gate. Fans who can’t attend in person can catch all the action live on RacingAmerica.Tv.
