Three Divisions Return to Aderson’s Full-Time Slate

New for 2024 at Anderson Speedway is the return of three full-time racing divisions. Modifieds, Legends, and Street Stocks were all, at one point, full-time divisions at the historic quarter mile oval and will be making their returns this summer. The three divisions will join the Marcum’s Welding Front Wheel Drives, Ford Division, and McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models as the six championship divisions for the 2024 season.

The Vore’s Welding & Steel Street Stock Division returns to Anderson Speedway for the first time since 2020 when Josh Poore captured his fifth Division Championship. The new Street Stock division will replace the Thundercar division that had been running at Anderson since 1999. The switch to Street Stocks from Thundercars is sure to promote higher car counts and close, competitive racing.

Legend cars have been a staple at Anderson Speedway since 1997. The series ran in consecutive years from 1997 to 2013 before taking a hiatus until 2021. Legends then returned for one year in 2021 as a full time division before taking 2022 and 2023 off and competing on a semi-regular basis. John Robbins is the most recent Legend Car Champion at Anderson Speedway with championships in 2007, 2008, 2013, and 2021.

Modifieds have not run full time at Anderson Speedway since 2003 when Mark Harrison won a tightly contested championship battle by only two points overJeff Weston. The victory was Harrison’s second consecutive Championship in the Modified division. Modifieds have run at Anderson Speedway on multiple occasions, including recent trips from the Midwest Modified Tour. Anticipation is rapidly growing for the once fan favorite division’s return to Anderson’s full-time slate.

Fans will see the Modifieds and Legends right off the bat as both series will be featured as part of Opening Night on March 30th. The Vore’s Welding & Steel Street Stocks will make their 2024 debut just two weeks later on April 13th. Each of the divisions will have their own marquee events with the Street Stocks being able to compete in both CRA Street Stock 150 events on June 22nd and August 10th, the Modified 100 on April 20th, and the Grant Fritz/Greg Dietzen Memorial will be on September 28th.
