Stock Car Festival at Anderson Speedway

Anderson Speedway is hosting the Tom Wood Stock Car Festival with feature events in eight divisions this Saturday.

During the Tom Wood Stock Car Festival starting at 6 p.m. the racing program includes the following divisions: Outlaw Figure 8; McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models; Marcum Welding Pro Compacts; Hart’s Auto Figure 8; Street Stocks; Thunder Roadsters; Thunder Cars; and Legends.

There will be 275 laps of racing action with champions to be crowned in the McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models and Thunder Roadsters.

Dave Osborn holds a slim 77 point lead over John Robbins in the Thunder Roadsters Division entering the Tom Wood Stock Car Festival action.

Robbins has won five feature races to Osborn’s two during the season, but Osborn has recorded four seconds and a third place showing during the year.

With double points awarded on championship night the title remains up for grabs between the two veteran drivers.

Jeff Marcum with four wins and seven fast times is on the brink of winning the late model championship with Brian Morrow a distance second in points.

The Street Stocks will be in action where John Poore has win twice with individual wins recorded by Andrew Cook, Mason Keller, Jimmy Kirby III and Jason Atkinson pulling into the winner’s circle in 2016.

There will be plenty of action in the crossover with the Outlaw Figure 8 division returning for a 50-lap feature and a 30-lap feature for the Hart’s Auto Figure 8’s where

Jeff Swinford won his second consecutive title.

Qualifying is set for 4 p.m. with racing action starting at 6 p.m.

Adult tickets are priced at $15 with $4 admission cost for children between the ages of 6 and 12.
