Sprint Cars Return to Action

The sounds of non-wing sprint cars returns to Anderson Speedway for a 125-lap event on Thursday Night Sprint Car Action presented by Sugar Fork Crossing this Thursday, June 20.

A strong field of competitors is expected for the first of several non-wing sprint car races on the high banked quarter-mile oval.

The sprint cars will be joined by the K & M Tool and Die Mel Kenyon Midget Series and the Marcum’s Welding Front Wheel Drive division.

California native Kody Swanson won two of the four races last year to go along with back to back victories in the Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW. Aaron Pierce and Tyler Roahrig also posted sprint car wins in 2018. Teams already entered include Swanson, Pierce, Chase Jones, Bobby Santos, Justin Grant, Kyle O’Gara, Jimmy McCune and Pendleton resident Travis Welpott.

Tommy Kouns won the Mel Kenyon Classic for the Kenyon Midgets and Kameron Gladish has also visited the Star Financial winner’s circle this year.

Qualifying is set for 5:30 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Adult tickets are $15; $4 for children 6 to 12 and free for children under the age of five.
