Local racing fans will be treated to more than 330 laps of feature racing action during the 2nd annual Tom Wood Stock Car Festival at Anderson Speedway on Saturday.
There will be racing action in 10 divisions with the return of the Outlaw Figure 8’s topping the racing card with 50-laps of action at the “X”.
Billed as the “Fastest Guys on the Planet” the high powered specialized Figure 8 cars with rear wings power around the high banked quarter-mile and present plenty of exciting action in the cross-over.
The Anderson Late Models will be competing in a 40-lap feature with $1,000 going to the winner and the Street Stocks will be racing in a 35 lap feature.
The Hart’s Auto Figure 8 competitors will be in action for 30 laps with the Thunder Cars running a 35-lap feature and the Marcum Welding Front Wheel Drives competing for 30 laps.
The Thunder Roadsters, traveling Legends, FasKarts series and Pro Compacts will also be in action.Anderson Speedway has scheduled 330 laps of feature racing on the oval and the Figure 8 crossover.
Qualifying is set for 3:30 p.m. with racing at 5 p.m. Adult tickets are priced at $15 and $4 for children between the ages of five and 12.
The rescheduled Tony Elliott Classic for non-wing sprint cars and the Mel Kenyon Midget Series will return on Oct. 21.
