Opening Night Rescheduled, Open Practice moved to Sunday

Anderson, IN – Due to forecasted low temperatures and the inability to have open concessions/restrooms, Anderson Speedway Officials have announced that ALL on track activity scheduled for Saturday, April 1st, 2023 has been canceled. All events previously scheduled for April 1st will now be rescheduled for Saturday, May 20th except for the Ford Division Amateur Class which will run its first event on Saturday April 8th. The Thunder Roadsters, previously scheduled for April 8th, will now run on May 20th.

“Because we are forecasted to receive below freezing low temperatures throughout the week, we are unable to have the facility’s water supply turned on,” said Jared Owen – Vice President of Operations. “Unfortunately this means we will not be able to open any of our concession stands and/or bathrooms throughout the facility for fans to utilize. Also, the possibility for low temperatures Saturday night paired with forecasted high winds will create dangerous track conditions for our racers.”

Open Practice for All Division scheduled for Friday, March 31st has also been canceled due to the high possibility of rain showers throughout the afternoon into the evening. This open practice has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 2nd from 2pm-5pm. Pit passes will be $20 and fans can watch for FREE by entering the pit gate and sitting in the pit grandstand.

Opening Night for Anderson Speedway will now be Saturday, April 8th with the 23rd Running of the Glen Niebel Classic presented by CB Fabricating. The night will feature the 500 Sprint Car Tour in a 75 lap event as well as the Ford Division Amateur Class and the USSA Kenyon Midget Series. Tickets for the event will be $16 for adults, $5 for kids age 6-12, and FREE for kids 5 and under. Front Gates open at 3:30pm and racing will begin at 6:00pm.
