Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series Kicks Off Pay Less Little 500 Week on Wednesday

The sixth annual Must See Racing 60 presented by Sam Pierce Chevrolet will bring the fastest short track cars in the World to Anderson Speedway on Wednesday, May 21. The Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series (MSRXSS) will be competing in their third race of the season.

The series will be led into Anderson by defending Must See Racing 60 winner and Pay Less Little 500 champion Jacob Wilson. The Crawfordsville, Ind. driver dominated last year’s event earning the Wilson Brothers Racing team their first MSRXSS feature victory. Wilson then went on later in the week to win the prestigious Pay Less Little 500.

Wilson will face a strong competition from a full field of series regulars including 2013 MSRXSS champion Brian Gerster in the Dick Myers No. 50M Sprinter. Gerster started the season with a win at Mobile (AL) International Speedway and setting new track records at both Mobile and Five Flags (FL) Speedway at the Southern Shootout in April.

Five Flags feature winner Aaron Pierce of Daleville, Ind. in the Sam Pierce Chevrolet No. 26 is also a favorite to compete for top honors. Pierce has won sprint car events at the high-banked quarter-mile oval with other sanctioning bodies including USAC, USSA Sprint Car Challenge Series and the former Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series.

On Wednesday, a host of top contenders are expected representing seven different states and Canada including past MSRXSS champion Troy DeCaire, Canadian Ryan Litt., Jimmy McCune, Jim Sheets, Kody Swanson, Tim Cox, Chris Neuenschwander, Davey Hamilton Jr., Ryan Gillenwater, Kevin Blue, and Cody Gallogly among others.

Two new top competitors will join the field with midget and silver crown veteran David Byrne of Shullsberg, Wis. in the Byrne Racing entry and popular sprint car racer Danny Smith of Chillicothe, Ohio piloting the Mike Blake Racing No. 81.

Joining the winged sprint cars will be the Mel Kenyon Midgets. They will be making their second appearance at the quarter-mile oval in 2014. In the first race at Anderson this season, Travis Young captured the victory. He inherited the top spot after Jessica Bean tangled with a lapped machine. Behind Young at the checkered flag included Cody Fehr and Cordy Horn.

On Wednesday, May 21, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing beginning at 7. Advance Admission is $10 for adults and $15 day of race. Tickets are $4 for kids ages 6-12 with children five and under getting in free.

First round qualifications for the 66th Pay Less Little 500 will take place on Thursday, May 22, beginning at 1:30 p.m. with the 33-car field set during second round of qualifications on Friday afternoon. The 66th Pay Less Little 500 goes green approximately at 8 p.m. on Saturday night May 24.
