Meldon HVAC Winter Blast Canceled
Anderson Speedway officials have announced that the Meldon HVAC Winter Blast scheduled for Saturday, January 4th has been canceled due to dangerous, low forecasted temperatures. With a current forecast as of Monday, December 30th showing a high temperature of 25 degrees with a feel like temperature of 12 degrees, the decision was made to cancel the event.
“We hate to be breaking this news given the great amount of excitement about the return of this event,” said Jared Owen – VP of Operations. “We want to provide our fans and competitors a chance to have fun during the winter, but we no longer feel that we can do so in a safe manner given the current forecast. We will be refunding all tickets purchased for this event.”
Per Madison County health code, hand washing stations are required for employees to be able to cook and serve food. Anderson Speedway shuts off water to the facility in the winter months to prevent potential pipe damages and, therefore, will not be able to provide water for hand washing stations given the current weather forecast. Anderson Speedway officials also feel that given the cold temperatures and high winds, there will not be a safe environment for fans and competitors.
Anderson Speedway will begin its 78th season of action on Saturday, March 15th 2025 for the first Open Practice for All Divisions of the new season. On Saturday, March 29th will open its racing season with Modifieds, Knapp Supply Ford Division, Legends, and Thunder Roadsters. Season ticket packs for the 2025 season are still available for purchase. A 10-pack is $120 or a 20-pack for $240. Ticket packs can be purchased by calling or visiting the Anderson Speedway ticket office Monday through Friday from 10am to 4pm. Tickets packs will be available until Friday, January 31.
