McIntyre wearing Two Hats in Ford Division
Austin McIntyre has been competing with the Ford Division at Anderson Speedway for the past four years, but at times is a car owner.
McIntyre said when his job as an asphalt foreman prevents him from competing at Anderson Speedway, he puts veteran driver Randy Owen in the car.
“My role is a little bit of both owner and driver,” he said.
McIntyre started racing go-karts before joining the ranks of Ford Division competitors.
“A buddy had a car and I wanted to start,” he said.
McIntyre is still looking for that first victory and Owen has finished on the podium several times while driving the car.
“It would be awesome,” McIntyre said of getting a win this weekend. “Randy (Owen) is like a brother to me and he has a lot to do with my racing.
“We plan to run the full schedule in 2025 and to have a two-car team,” he said.
Owen’s son is expected to be the second driver.
“I would like to race in another division,” McIntyre said. “But I don’t know what that would be or when it could take place.”
