Anderson, Indiana (January 8, 2019) – Action Entertainment officials have announced the continued relationship with Marcum’s Welding & Steel Processing Inc. They will once again sponsor the Front Wheel Drive division at Anderson Speedway.

Marcum’s Welding Front Wheel Drives will continue at Anderson Speedway as an entry level division. The Front Wheel Drive division was started at Anderson Speedway back in 2003. Larry Thomas Jr. was the first champion of the division. For many years, the track ran a compact style car and followed the VORES Compact Touring Series rules. However, in 2017, the rules were changed to entry level Front Wheel Drives. The rules for 2019 mirror ones already used by Indianapolis Speedrome, with the addition of a roll cage required at Anderson.
Marcum’s Welding Front Wheel Drives will compete in 10 events at Anderson Speedway. New to the Anderson Speedway schedule this year is a 50 Lap, $500 to win, shootout on July 20. They will also run in the “Night of Thrills” on August 31st, in addition to the Trailer Figure 8’s and School Bus Figure 8’s. The season championships for the Marcum’s Welding Front Wheel Drives is set for September 21.
2018 saw a first-time champion in owner/driver Randy Owen. He started off the season on a hot streak of wins. Towards the end of the season the division continued to grow, and the competition became fierce. With consistent finishes he was able to win his first track championship. The division looks for continued growth with the same rules in place as 2018.
