Madison County 200 Tops Racing Card at Anderson Speedway

ANDERSON – For the first time in their history the Champion Racing Association Sportsman Late Models will be competing in a 200-lap event.

The 200-lap event Saturday at Anderson Speedway is being presented by the Madison County Bicentennial Committee and a strong contingent of competitors are anticipated. The Sportsman Late Model driver to beat on the high banked quarter-mile oval is multi-time track champion Jeff Marcum. Joining the field for his first start at Anderson Speedway this year is Greg VanAlst. VanAlst opened the year by winning the ARCA Menard’s Series race at Daytona International Speedway. J.P. Crabtree, the 2022 track champion is always a threat for a win at Anderson along with Cassten Everidge, Danny Trent and Hunter and Tanner Jack. Kent Baledge returns to Sportsman Late Model action, expected to be joined by Nathan Greene the most recent race winner at Anderson and Ronnie Rose.

The Noble Wine & Spirit Thunder Cars are back in action where David McConnell was crowned the 2023 champion despite not winning a feature event. Rose won three Thunder Car features with Ricky Craig and Ron Phipps posting two victories.

The Marcum’s Welding Front Wheel Drive division will be in action where JD Blankenship has recorded four wins, Cody Riley two feature victories and Josh Ebbert picked up his first career victory last month.

Qualifying set for 5 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for kids aged 6-12, and free for all kids 5 and under.
