Legends, Touring Modifieds top racing program

 

Frankton veteran driver John Robbins will be looking for his fourth win in the most important race of the year for the Legends division at Anderson Speedway.

For the 28th year the Legends competitors will take part in the Fritz/Dietzen Memorial race, named to honor to former competitors in the division.

Robbins for the third time won the race in 2023 holding off Sam Johnson for the victory.

Robbins won the championship in the return of the Legends to a full-time division at Anderson Speedway having to hold off Johnson and his teammate Xavier King for the honors.

The Midwest Modified Tour returns to Anderson Speedway with a strong field of 28 cars expected for the 50 lap feature.

The fastest 16 cars will be locked in during qualifications with the remainder of the 20 car field filled through a B-Main race.

A year ago Michigan driver Buddy Gray made the seven-hour trip worthwhile with the victory.

Local drivers entered include Joe Beaver, Colby Lane, Will Jennings, Tyler DeHart, and Tyler Marsh.

The Ford Division will be competing in the Wrapco 50 that will pay $500 to the winner of the 50-lap race and the Marcum Front Wheel Drive division will complete the racing card with a 25-lap feature.

Ron Phipps is the Ford Division champion finishing ahead of Colson Gray and Austin McIntyre.

Anderson’s Josh Ebbert Jr. is the 2024 champion in the division holding off Dylan Hoppes and Austin Pursley.

Racing begins at 7:00pm with the front Gates Opening at 3:30pm. Divisions in action include  Midwest Modified Tour, Ford Division, Marcum Welding Front Wheel Drives, Legends.
