It has been a breakout year for Anderson Speedway competitor Xavier King and the hope is to add his name as a winner of the biggest Legends Division race of the year.
King captured his first feature win of the year in the Legends Division after being close in the past.
During the regular season he finished in the top five positions in feature races six times and posted the fastest time during qualifying numerous times.
King also captured a victory and two fast times in the Vores Welding & Steel Street Stock division.
His biggest rival in Legends Division action is teammate John Robbins, who was the 2024 champion at the track.
Over the years King has finished on the podium during the Fritz/Dietzen Memorial race.
King said 2020 was the first year he ever raced and finished second in the Fritz/Dietzen race.
“It would be a big deal,” he said of a win in the race. “The race has been around for a long time and it would be cool to add my name to the winners list.”
King said the results show that along with Robbins the team is competitive on a regular basis at Anderson Speedway.
“My dad (Jesse King) raced thunder cars and Legends,” he said. “I watched my dad race and finally got old enough to start racing myself.”
King said he will give the Fritz/Dietzen race his best shot to score that elusive victory.
He said the team is excited with the number of entries the Legends cars brought to Anderson this year and the hope is that number will increase in the future.
