CRA Street Stocks Battle During Spring Fling 75 at Anderson Speedway
Anderson, IN (Thursday, April 13, 2023) – Champion Racing Association (CRA) and Anderson Speedway are preparing for the return of the CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS to Anderson Speedway for the Spring Fling 75 Presented by CB Fabricating on Saturday, April 15th. The race is the second of the season for both Anderson Speedway and the CRA Street Stocks.
The CRA Street Stocks Series began their season at Shadybowl Speedway on Sunday, April 2nd. A stout field of Street Stocks turned out and put on an impressive show that saw Bowling Green, Kentucky’s, Blaine Akin retake the lead inside of five laps to go and held off four-time CRA Street Stocks Champion Jason Atkinson to grab his first career CRA Street Stocks Series win. The pair are now getting ready to square off again at Anderson Speedway.
Last season, Josh Poore grabbed the win in the 2022 Spring Fling after holding off Andrew Teepe and James Kirby, III. Poore started on the outside of the front row and led all 75 laps en route to the win. Akin was on the move through the field coming from 7th to finish 4th with Atkinson directly behind him in last year’s contest.
Four different drivers won at Anderson Speedway in 2022 during four different races at Anderson Speedway. Alongside Poore, Chuck Barnes, Jr won the June CRA Street Stocks contest, Brett Hudson grabbed the honors in August, and Teepe was victorious in September.
Early in the season, the Championship Points Standings remain a dead heat with Akin setting the early pace ahead of Atkinson and Dalton Conner. A shake-up could come this weekend at the worn ¼-mile Anderson Speedway.
In addition to the CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS, fans can also catch the action of the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and the Vore’s Compact Touring Series. General Admission gates open at 4:00 PM ET with the first green flag of the night scheduled for 6:00 PM ET. Fans who can’t attend the race can catch all the action on RacingAmerica.Tv.
