Can Swanson continue Nolen Classic Magic?
Will Kody Swanson continue his dominance in the Gene Nolen Classic or will a new driver find victory Saturday at Anderson Speedway.
The 500 Sprint Car Tour is returning for the third annual Gene Nolen Classic presented by The Herald Bulletin and CB Fabricating with an impressive field of 17 teams on the entry list.
Kody Swanson will be looking for his third consecutive win in a Nolen Racing owned sprint car and will looking to expand his lead in the point standings over Kyle O’Gara and Billy Wease.
O’Gara has a couple of Tour wins at Anderson Speedway along with former Sprint Car race winner Bobby Santos III.
The Kenyon Midget Series will be contending the ninth annual Don and Mel Classic.
The 75-lap event is the longest on the schedule for the Kenyon Midgets and considered one of the top events of the season.
Clayton Gaines was the race winner in April when the series competed at Anderson Speedway in the Dick Jordan Classic and will be looking to add the Kenyon Classic to his resume.
Other top drivers expected to contend is point leader Ryan Huggler, 2023 rookie of the year Evan Hammond and Kyle Sheard.
The racing program includes the Legends division which has produced four different winners this year. John Robbins, Xavier King and Sam Johnson are all local race winners.
The Thunder Roadsters return to action when Doug Dugger, Robbins and Brad Kendall have recorded race wins and the Midwest Super Cups make their first appearance.
Qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $18 for adults, $5 for kids age 6-12, and free for all kids 5 and under.
