Burge first-time Anderson winner

ANDERSON – Caleb Burge scored his first career win at Anderson Speedway in the Knapp Supply Ford Division which saw 33 cars in the pit area.

With a full pit area officials opted to add a B-Main for the event locking in the top 20 fast qualifiers into the 30-lap feature.

With 13 cars in the B-Main only four would advance to the A-feature. Mike Riddle Jr. led the entire distance chased by Jordan Tharp.

Tyler Dobbs spun on the seventh circuit while running in a transfer position and couldn’t recover in time to advance to the feature race.

Jeremy Threet came home in third and Travis Dobbs rounded out the competitors advancing.

JD Blankenship Jr. led at the start with Burge running third with Drew Evans in second.

Evans night ended on lap 21 and while the leaders were in slower traffic on lap 23 Burge was able to make the pass for the lead on the back straight.

Ron Phipps was able to pass Blankenship for the second spot on lap 27 but couldn’t catch Burge.

Blakenship, Noah Allison and Collin Grissom rounded out the top five.

Elliott McKinney won the Marcum’s Welding Front Wheer Drive Figure-8 event in a race of attrition.

It took three attempts to get the race started with McKinney taking the point followed by fast qualifier Josh Ebbert and Gaige Hulett.

McKinney and Ebbert crashed on the sixth circuit in turn one and McKinney was able to continue while Ebbert’s night was done.

McKinney followed by David Powell and Hulett.
