(Anderson, IN) – ASA STARS National Tour rookie Kyle Steckly earned his first signature super late model victory, winning the prestigious 58th Annual Redbud 400 at Anderson Speedway.
The Milverton, Ont. CA driver powered past Austin Nason on lap 336, and put on a show for the fans in attendance in leading the final 63 circuits on the tight Anderson quarter-mile oval. Steckly led three times for a total of laps, the most of any driver.
Steckly becomes the 3rd Canadian driver to win the Redbud 400, and second in a row (Cole Butcher – 2023) Junior Hanley won in 2004.
Nason, the Roscoe, IL racer, finished 2nd, after leading the race on three separate occasions. The runner-up finish marks Nasons best in 16 ASA STARS National Tour Events.
Geo Ruggiero placed third, followed by Derek Kraus and Billy Van Meter. Nason and Butcher were stage winners, and Butcher earned the $1,000 GoFas Pole Award during qualifying.
Series point leader Casey Roderick had a challenging day, starting 9th and finishing 6th, four laps down. Despite the struggles, Roderick unofficially remains the ASA STARS National Tour points leader.
Up next for the ASA STARS National Tour will be a first time visit to Owasso Speedway in Central Michigan on August 17.
