Anderson Speedway Moves Season Championships to Sunday

Anderson Speedway officials have moved the Season Championships to Sunday afternoon due to the cold temperatures and forecast of afternoon and evening rain.

“This is an important event for our fans and competitors and with the forecast of much warmer temperatures and no rain Sunday afternoon, we feel everyone will benefit from the move: said Anderson Speedway President, Rick Dawson. “The Season Championships are huge and with better track conditions tomorrow, the speeds and competition should be exciting.”

Pit gates will open at 1:30, with practice beginning and front gates opening at 2:30. Qualifying will begin at 3:45 and racing will begin at 5.

The McGunegill Engine Late Models, Street Stocks and Pro Compacts will compete. The Vores VCTS originally scheduled for the night will be rescheduled later in the month. However, all Pro Compacts are encouraged to compete.

“The times give our fans the opportunity to watch the Colts beat the Jaguars early in the afternoon and watch great racing early in the evening” continued Dawson. “We look forward to seeing everyone at the Speedway”
