Anderson, IN – On Wednesday, April 24th, Anderson Speedway hosted its Annual Little 500 Press Conference to kick start the Little 500 Festival. The event was held at the Union Building in downtown Anderson, Indiana for the third consecutive year. Only 31 days away from the 76th Annual Little 500 presented by UAW, the event officially marks the beginning of the Little 500 festival and the Month of May in Madison County.
Multiple guest speakers were in attendance including the Mayor of Anderson, Indiana Thomas Broderick Jr., Clayton Whitson from the Madison County Chamber of Commerce, Maurenn Lambert from the Anderson/Madison County Visitors Bureau, Little 500 Rookie competitor, Jackson Macenko, Little 500 veteran, Dakoda Armstrong, Jim King from UAW Region 2B, David McIntyre from McIntyre Jewelry the official Jeweler of the Little 500, and the Little 500 Festival Queen and Princess.
The Annual Little 500 Press Conference was held at the Union Building in downtown Anderson, Indiana for the third consecutive year. Home to many local businesses, including the Madison County Chamber of Commerce, the Union Building provided a central location removed from the elements to play host to this event. Open to the public, an impressive crowd came to show their support of the Little 500 and the Little 500 Festival. Patrons were able to take pictures with the Little 500 trophies, talk with Anderson Speedway staff/Little 500 drivers, and meet the Little 500 Festival Queen and Princess.
Allie Clark from Alexandria, Indiana was crowned the Little 500 Festival Queen and Rylie Kellams, also from Alexandria, Indiana, was named the Little 500 Festival Princess. The two will be present at all Little 500 Festival events during the month of May, including the 76th Annual Little 500 presented by UAW.
Anderson Speedway President, Rick Dawson, conducted interviews with current drivers Jackson Macenko and Dakoda Armstrong. Macenko will be looking to qualify for his first Little 500 after winning Rookie of the Year honors with the 500 Sprint Car Tour in 2024. Armstrong, a former Little 500 runner up, has gained a ton of momentum after winning two consecutive Anderson Speedway events with the 500 Sprint Car Tour. He will be an early favorite to compete for the Little 500 Champions Trophy come Memorial Day Weekend.
The 76th Annual Little 500 presented by UAW will be held on Saturday, May 25th at 8:00pm. Tickets for the event are available now and are reserved seating only. All tickets are $45 and can be purchased online HERE or by calling Anderson Speedway Monday through Friday from 10am-4pm. The event will also be streamed live on DIRTVision.
