Outlaw Figure-8s Headline Anderson Speedway’s “Stars & Stripes 50” Saturday Night
ANDERSON, Ind. — One of the most anticipated nights of the summer arrives this Saturday at Anderson Speedway as the Outlaw Figure-8 division returns to headline the “Stars & Stripes 50” — a 50-lap feature that brings high-speed crossover action back to the historic Figure-8 course.
As part of a full Saturday night program, the Outlaw Figure-8 teams will be joined by three local divisions that are returning to action after nearly a month away from competition, setting up a packed night of racing from top to bottom.
The Outlaw Figure-8 division made its return to Anderson Speedway in 2025 after several years away, immediately delivering a memorable main event. Dalton Conner scored the victory in that return, with Mark Tunney finishing second and Jesse Tunney completing the podium. The division’s return has quickly re-established itself as one of the most talked-about attractions at the track, and Saturday’s Stars & Stripes 50 marks the first of two appearances this season, with the finale scheduled for October.
The event also carries a strong historical connection to Anderson Speedway, with former standout Eddie VanMeter among the most successful competitors in past Outlaw Figure-8 competition, earning three victories during his career at the track.
Late Model Championship Battle Tightens
The Vern’s Concrete Late Models will contest a 40-lap feature as the championship battle continues to heat up. Casten Everidge opened the season with a win, while Ryder VanAlst captured his first career Late Model victory in May. Everidge currently leads VanAlst by just six points in the standings, keeping the title fight extremely tight heading into Saturday night’s return to action.
Legends Division Dominance and Title Chase
The Beaver Contracting Legends division returns with Dalton Conner continuing a dominant start to the season. Conner has won both feature events so far and holds a 25-point advantage over Xavier King in the standings. King and the rest of the field will be looking to close the gap as the season progresses, but Conner remains the driver to beat heading into Saturday.
Ford Division Tackles Figure-8 Action
For the first time this season, the Knapp Supply Ford Division will take on Figure-8 racing at Anderson Speedway. The division has already produced three different oval winners this year — Ronnie Phipps, Josh Sage, and Ron Phillips — highlighting a competitive and unpredictable field as drivers adjust to the crossover challenge of Figure-8 competition.
Stars & Stripes 50, Military Appreciation Admission
Saturday’s program will officially be run under the “Stars & Stripes 50” banner in honor of active and retired military personnel. As part of the special event, all active duty and retired military members will receive free admission to the grandstands with valid identification.
