Christmas In July Canceled Due to Weather
Anderson Speedway officials have announced that Christmas in July on Saturday, July 19th has been canceled due to forecasted storms and potential for flash flooding. At this time, the event does not have a reschedule date.
“We hate that this has become a recurring issue for us this season,” said Jared Owen – VP of Operations. “For some reason, Mother Nature has not wanted to cooperate with us this year. With the potential of severe thunder storms and flash flooding, we are running into an issue where there may be some flooding in the pits and on the track. We were able to push through last week with the understanding of a single rain shower moving through. With the unpredictability of severe storms moving through the area, we felt this would be the safest decision for our staff, racers, and our fans.”
Anderson Speedway will return to racing on Saturday, July 26th with the 59th Annual CB Fabricating Redbud 400. The ASA Stars National Tour is back for the Redbud for the 3rd straight season. The best short track racers in America, along with NASCAR star Carson Hocevar, will be in action for the 400 lap event. In addition, NASCAR Star Ross Chastain will be serving as the event’s Grand Marshall. Tickets for the event will be $20 for adults (In Advance), $10 for kids 6-12, and free for kids 5 and under. Adult tickets will increase to $25 on the day of the event. Pit gates will open at 11:00pm, front gates will open at 4:30pm, and racing will begin at 7:30pm.
