ANDERSON – Will a new driver add his name to the impressive list of winners in the nation’s oldest continuous race in the Pay Less National Crown.
The Tharp family have pulled into the Riley & Sons Victory Lane the past two years and will be looking for a three-peat.
Rickie Tharp II is the defending race winner and his father won in 2022. His uncle Josh Tharp won the National Crown in 2011.
There have been strong car counts in Crown Vic competition this year and another stellar field is expected on Saturday.
The Modifieds return to action starting a string of three appearances in the month of August.
Dalton Conner has won twice with Nathan Greene, Joe Beaver and Jacob Owens all scoring victories.
Tyler DeHart has a four-point lead over Greene in the championship point race with Owens another five points back and Beaver sitting 13 points behind DeHart.
The Marcum’s Welding Front Wheel Drives return where Austin Pursley has two victories with Nick Warner, Josh Ebbert Jr. and Dylan Hoppes all scoring wins.
Hoppes has a 14-point lead over Ebbert with Pursley 31 points back of the leader.
Qualifying is set for 6 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for kids age 6-12, and free for all kids 5 and under.
