Competitors and the staff of Anderson Speedway are starting the Halloween holiday a week early with events for children and 75-lap features in three divisions.
Drivers will be taking part in a “Trunk or Treat” event behind the main grandstand and youngsters are being encouraged to come in their Halloween costume and will participate in a parade around the track.
Children under the age of 12 will be admitted for free.
The McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models, Street Stocks and Marcum Welding Pro Compacts will all be in 75-lap action on the high banked quarter-mile oval on Thompson Builders Night.
Two-time late model champion Jack Dossey III has recorded six wins in 2015 followed by the three wins of Jeff Marcum and two for Scott Tomasik. Billy VanMeter and Greg VanAlst have won Champion Racing Association Sportsman Late Model races at Anderson Speedway.
Street Stock champion Josh Poore has visited the AutoFarm McCrocklin Ford Winner’s Circle seven times during the year with Calvin Parham and Jimmy Kirby each scoring victories.
In CRA Street Stock competition, champion Jason Atkinson won twice and Robert Amos Jr. has one victory.
Matt Tharp, champion in the Marcum Welding Pro Compact Division, has won two of the last three races.
Adam Lee won seven times, Trent Gossar scored two victories. Kevin Harmon, Jeff Williams, Ryan Claborn and Randy Hoppes all recorded feature wins in 2015.
Gates open at 3 p.m. with qualifying at 4:30 p.m. and racing action at 6 p.m.
