With tight point races in all six divisions at Anderson Speedway the Spring Championships paying double points is crucial to the race teams.
The Spring Championships sponsored by Talecris Plasma Resources takes place this Saturday.
Through the first two races of the season defending Late Model champion Jeff Marcum and Aaron Pierce have posted feature wins with Marcum coming off a strong third place showing in the CRA Sportsman Late Model feature last weekend.
Looking to win the Marcum Welding Front Wheel Drive title has found Ron Phipps visiting victory lane twice in feature events, last weekend he won a hard fought battle with Jeff Williams and Nick Warner.
John Robbins is perfect this season in Thunder Roadster competition with two feature wins but Doug Dugger and Marty Griffin have both posted strong showings.
Ronnie Phipps captured last weekend’s Hart’s Auto Figure 8 feature and joined Curtis Chapman as feature race winners. Shawn Cullen and Joe Beaver are close behind in the point standings.
The Thunder Cars and Street Stocks will both be in competition.
Qualifying is set for 5:30 p.m. with racing action starting at 8 p.m. Adult tickets are priced at $12, $4 for children between the ages of 6 and 12.
