Jerry Dane made it a clean sweep in the
Front Wheel Drive Oval Division by setting
fast time, capturing a win in a heat race
and then driving to his second consecutive
feature victory.
Dane started fourth in the feature but was
able to pass Adam Lee for the point on the
second lap with an inside move entering turn
one. Lee was able to hang close to Dane’s
rear bumper until lap 11 when he suddenly
slowed.
Marshall Clark suffered a flat tire will
running third after four laps.
The first caution flag waved on lap seven
when Randy Hoppes spun in turn three while
running just outside of the top five.
With Dane on the point chased by Lee, third
place running Jared Keller got a slow
restart before his car regained power.
The final caution flag waved on lap 11 when
Austin McKinney failed to heed the
black-flag for his rear bumper cover
dragging the track.
At the finish it was Dane winning by 1.9
seconds over Dylan Hoppes with Brandon Lee
Cook, Ryan Claborn and Keller rounding out
the top five.
Dylan Hoppes worked his way from the tenth
starting position to move into the second
space with a pass of Cook with five laps
remaining to finish second.
In the first heat race, Cook took the early
lead followed by Keller, Jeff Williams,
Clark and Dane.
Keller took the lead on the second circuit
from Cook with an inside move on the front
straight while Dane was working his way up
through the field.
Dane didn’t take the lead until the seventh
lap when he got inside of Keller on the
front straight and went on to the victory.
Keller came home in second followed by Cook,
Clark and Williams.
Jesse Thomas led the entire distance to win
the second heat race chased the entire way
by Randy Hoppes and Billy Hooten. Jacob
Brown and Dylan Hoppes rounded out the top
five.
