(March
6,
2014) - The first official
entry has been received for the 66th Pay Less
Little 500 on Saturday, May 24 at the
high-banked quarter-mile oval of Anderson
Speedway. Goacher Racing filed that entry with
2011 Champion Chris Windom.
Windom's most recent appearance in the Little
500 took place in 2011 when he earned a
thrilling victory.
He passed Eric Gordon with
five laps remaining to capture the rain delayed
63rd running of the Pay Less Little 500 which
took place on Sunday evening. It was Windom's
fifth appearance in the May race.
Windom is coming off an impressive 2013 season
that included a runner-up finish in the USAC
Silver Crown Series and ninth place performance
in the USAC Sprint Cars Series. The best night
last season for the Illinois native was no doubt
during the 4 Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway
when he captured both the USAC Silver Crown and
Sprint Car feature wins.
Goacher Racing is also expected to file a second
entry for the Little 500 with Isaac Chapple at
the controls of the Sprinter.
