Armstrong's Finish one, to; Cottingham, Welch Score Wins

It was an all New Castle Regional Midget feature at Anderson Speedway with Caleb Armstrong holding off his cousin, Dakota, for the second half of the 30 lap feature to record the win.

Caleb Armstrong jumped into the lead at the start and quickly distanced himself from the rest of the field. The only thing that kept him from scoring an even bigger win was the five cautions that slowed the pace.

Caleb Armstrong had to survive four restarts with his cousin on his rear bumper but was able to pull away each time for the win. Zach Daum finished third.

The race was slowed five times by cautions with the most serious incident taking place on lap 17 when Brian Olson lost the left rear wheel on his midget while running fourth.

Dakota Armstrong started fourth and passed Chuck Gurney Jr. with an inside pass entering Turn one to move in the third position and on lap 15 got inside of Daum entering the third corner.

Allison MacLeod finished fourth followed by Joe Liguori.
Avon’s Tyler Cottongim took the lead just prior to the second red flag of the Ford Focus Midget on lap 6 and went on to score the first win of the year.

Taylor Ferns jumped into the lead at the start and led until lap five when Kent Kriegbaum spun in Turn two and a late caution flag had Ferns sliding into Kreigbaum.

That gave the lead to Jimmy Simpson chased by Cottongim and Joe Liguroi. While battling for the fourth position, Scott Hunter got inside of Robbie Ray entering Turn three and contact sent both cars to the outside retaining wall.

Liguori made an inside pass on Simpson entering Turn four to grab the second spot with 18 laps remaining but never mounted a series challenge to Cottongim. Simpson finished third followed by Coleman Gullick and Chris Lamb.

Dillon Welch led all 20 laps to capture the Kenyon Midget feature with Grant Galloway claiming the second spot and Taylor Ferns coming home in third.
