New Year's Day Racing Set for Monday Afternoon

The 60th Anniversary Season begins at Anderson Speedway on Monday, January 1, with the 9th Annual New Year’s Day Bash presented by Yellow Book. Featured divisions include Figure 8’s, Lampco Federal Credit Union Street Stocks, ThunderCars, Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives on the Oval and Figure 8 along with Mini Stocks and Mini Cups.

In last year’s New Year’s Day Bash, over 100 cars raced on the world’s fastest quarter-mile oval on January 1. New Castle’s Danny Acrey earned the victory in the Lampco FCU Street Stock feature with Ronnie Rose winning in Figure 8’s and Curtis Chapman grabbing top honors in the ThunderCars. Travis Burge won the Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive Oval feature with Travis Burge scoring the Figure 8 victory.

On Monday, January 1, spectator gates open at 11 a.m. with the racing program going green at approximately 1 p.m.

General admission tickets will be priced at $10 for adults, $4 for children 6-12 with kids five and under admitted free. A limited number of tickets are available in heated suites for a price of $25 per person.
